DRIM have 2 major engineering workshops, one located near Paris at Meudon, the other one located in the North, at Lille, close to the design offices.
Their main duties are to provide all necessary manufacturing services in close relationship with the design office. The design office and the workshops form a responsive, integrated team working according to concurrent engineering procedures (design, manufacturing).
These workshops working on preliminary specifications with high technical and economic risk. The workshops cover all these missions for both Onera's internal and external clients.
All DRIM services are assessed based on technical and financial achievements. The concurrent engineering procedure is a main driver in optimizing the time schedule for each project.
Workshops are using advanced techniques as fast prototyping, high speed manufacturing, composite materials and they have a large in-house know-how.
- CNC milling machines (3 and 5 axes), including high speed milling machine,
- Electro discharge machines
- For spark erosion
- For wire erosion
- Prototyping machine
- Hand working and final assembly
Their main duties are to provide all necessary electronic services in close relationship with the workshop office as:
- Models equipment
- Sensors installation
- Mechanical and fluidic actuators development
- Electronics design
